Comcast Corporation (CMCSA) Compromised Personal Data Case

• On December 18, 2023, Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Xfinity filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Maine.

• On it, on December 20, 2023 $CMCSA fell 1.1%, losing $2B+ of shareholder value.

• Investors may have grounds to suspect Comcast of data security setbacks, which led to their losses.

On December 18, 2023, Comcast subsidiary Xfinity announced that hackers had accessed personal information of Xfinity’s customers, including usernames, passwords, and in some cases partial Social Security numbers, security questions, birthdates and contact information.

On this news, on December 20, 2023 $CMCSA fell 1.1% and lost over $2B million of its market capitalization, seriously damaging shareholders.

Considering all the information, investors might have grounds to suspect that Comcast failed to establish adequate level of data security, which led to their losses.
